Can I Really Imagine Myself Living in an RV?

The Diary of an RV Newbie, Part 2

April 17, 2020

This COVID-19 situation is getting crazy. We are two months inside of this pandemic and it feels mighty gloomy. Everyone around the world is locked inside their homes, wearing masks making everyone unrecognizable, and our ability to socially interact has been rocked to the core. It is absolutely depressing. The only thing I can do right now is go out for essentials or stuck at home…Inside a home that I do not like being in because it’s not mine. Right now I feel like the only essentials needed are at the liquor store.

I have cleaned the kitchen twice today and even mowed the yard again. While I was out in the Florida sun — slowly acquiring a slobbering pool of under-boob sweat — I wasn’t even thinking about the pandemic. However, that takes money. More money than I currently have and I want to remain debt free.

I thought I had it figured out by renting to remain debt free. If I don’t like a place, I’ll just wait until my lease or contract ends then move. At first, it was a very freeing feeling to rent; especially after our housing debacle of 2008. It was great. If an appliance breaks, I would call the Property Manager and it would become the owner’s problem. Soon, the honeymoon phase as a renter ended and I opened my eyes: I’ve learned a new way to throw away money and it came in the form of…
