How One Artist Learned to Let His Talents Flow

Our talent is a gift from a greater being that seeks expression through us

You may have heard the story of an artist who struggled for years to bring out his talent, only to find it emerged of its own accord once he let go of his ego and surrendered to the creative force within him.

When asked about his early struggles, the artist spoke of how he had always possessed the talent he was now known for but he was unable to bring it out because he thought it belonged to him.

It’s a general belief that our talents and abilities are something we possess and control, something that belongs to us as individuals but what this artist came to realize was that his talent was not his alone, it was a gift from a greater being. It was from a creative force that lived within him and flowed through him. He was able to let go of his ego and allow his talent to emerge in its own way and time once he saw this.

We may try to control our talents and try to bend them to our will but doing so will limit our talents potential and prevent them from fully coming to life. We are so focused on ourselves and our own desires that we fail to recognize that this creative force that lives within us is trying to seek expression through us.

In order to unlock our talents and allow them to mature, we have to let go of our ego and surrender to the creative force within us. Recognising that our talents are not ours alone but they are a part of a larger universal energy that seeks expression through us. This universal energy will guide us in a way that is best for us as long as we trust in this creative force with complete faith.

We can’t just wait around for our talents to magically appear out of nowhere. We need to actively create the conditions that promote growth and allow our skills to flourish.
