INSIDE PREMIER HUB!

On the 31st August we hosted a youth advocacy dialogue with Yemie Fash at our hub. We discussed about youths engaging more in advocacy especially on social media. Yemie Fash stated that ‘you don’t wait until it affects you to speak up, if it bothers anyone else, then it should be a concern to you!’ He further said ‘I am the type of person that cannot see something wrong and just look away, whether it is my business or not’ Dj Venom was also in attendance, he spoke about how he became the World’s Longest Playing DJ on August 15, 2018, and has vowed not to stop until he achieves his other aim of donating one million books to Nigerian students’.

It was enlightening, interactive and fun.

2018 i-START-UP SOUTHWEST SELECTION PITCH

On the 29th and 30th of August, we held the i-startup Southwest Selection pitch in partnership with N-SIP and the office of the vice president of the FRN. The 2-days Pitch event held at the Premier Hub innovation center in Akure. This event brought together key players from across the Agriculture. Manufacturing and Technology sectors to witness the event as part of the Judicial Panel. In attendance was Ife Adebayo , Adenike Akinsemolu, Sola Amusan, Kitan David, Mimshach Obioha, Joel Ogunsola and Ibukun Obe. The first day was pitch practice. Start-up practiced their pitch all day using their pitch slides. The second day was the main pitch. 25 start-up teams were selected, however only 23 teams were available to pitch before the panel.

At the end of the day, most start-ups gave their feedbacks that they learnt a lot from the process as the judges not only encouraged them but also gave them a lot of insights to help them grow their business.

Quadloop, Embinix, Techbionics, Bridgebooks, Maes Sac, Smart Teller, GasAlat, Trep Labs, Bubbue, Upnepa, Agroconnect, Domitech, Pagecarton, Trendytolz, HER Farms, Life Pro, Momentus, Swashit, Anomalous Travels, Haulr, Naija Secured, Fish Central, Safehire, Merchshipping, Wikiguage However, as much as we really would have loved to absorb all of this innovative businesses, only 10 made it to the final stage of receiving grants. They are: Embinix, Techbionics, Smart Teller, Bubbue, Agroconnect, Trendytolz, Life Pro, HER Farms, Anomalous Travels and Merchshipping.

On the 24th-29th (Monday — Friday) of September, we will commence our I-Startup Southwest incubation training for the selected entrepreneurs that will obtain grant. This program will help the founders understand their Value proposition, Vision, Mission, prototyping, customer profiling, feedback loop, digital marketing, accounting and legal. Etc.
