ACT TWO

So, three kids, a house and a dog later, I am here. And I like it.

I feel the wave of excitement kinda like when you are waiting for the curtain to rise. Then there’s the fear too. Of what, I am not sure exactly but it is the kind that can take over if you let it. So, I won’t.

After almost 35 years of working as a physical therapist, I have learned to respect this wonder that is our body and even more, respect its design and intention, which is TO MOVE! In every sense of the word, we are meant to move. It is in this moving that we first and foremost feel alive and are able to express our unique selves. And just as important, it is in the physical act of moving that we are visibly able to connect with everything and everyone around us.

So, in this next phase of my life, I would like to share what I have seen work for me and for my patients in terms of moving SMARTLY whether it be in the quest to optimize health at any age, improve performance at work or play or rehabilitate after illness or injury.

The plan is to publish weekly posts on topics that have resonated with me especially those commonly asked questions or situations I meet often in my practice. I welcome questions from readers and will be sure to respond in a thoughtful and timely manner.
